How does the Vent Scents device work?

The device uses cold-air diffusion to transform fragrance oil into an ultra-fine, dry mist. The HVAC system then carries the fragrance evenly throughout the home.

How much space does one device cover?

One device typically covers up to 8,000 sq ft. Though it can depend on the device model, HVAC layout, airflow and number of systems in the home. We help determine the correct device and setup based on your space.

Is the device loud?

The diffuser makes a soft operating sound while actively atomizing, but it is typically installed near the HVAC equipment rather than in a main living area.

Does the device require regular maintenance?

Maintenance is minimal. Customers primarily need to replace the fragrance bottle as needed and occasionally check the tubing and connections.

Will the diffuser run all day?

It does not need to. The device can be programmed to operate at scheduled intervals, allowing you to control fragrance strength while conserving oil.

How is a Vent Scents system installed?

The diffuser connects directly to your HVAC system so fragrance can be distributed through your existing vents. Installation is clean, discreet and completed without modifying the appearance of your home. 

How long does installation take?

Most standard installations take approximately 30–60 minutes. Homes with multiple HVAC systems, unusual ductwork or multiple zones may require additional time.

Do I need a separate device for each HVAC system?

Usually, yes. Each independent HVAC system generally requires its own diffuser to distribute fragrance throughout the areas it serves.

Is professional installation included?

Complimentary installation is available in qualifying local service areas. Shipping and guided self-installation options may also be available for customers outside our installation area.

Can I control the system from my phone?

Yes. The app allows you to adjust fragrance intensity, operating schedules and diffusion intervals from a compatible smartphone.

Can I schedule different settings throughout the day?

Yes. You can create a schedule based on when you are home, when your HVAC system is typically running or when you want the fragrance to be most noticeable.

Can I make the scent stronger or lighter?

Yes. Fragrance intensity can be adjusted by changing the device’s operating and resting intervals. We can help you find a balanced starting setting.

Does the device require Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi is needed for certain app-connected features and remote adjustments. Most compatible models connect through a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

What happens if the Wi-Fi disconnects?

The device will generally continue operating according to its saved schedule. You may need to reconnect it before making additional changes through the app.

How large are the Vent Scents oil bottles?

Our standard fragrance bottles contain 500 mL, providing significantly more oil than many smaller home-fragrance systems.

How long does one bottle last?

Oil usage depends on the intensity settings, daily schedule, size of the space and number of devices. Many customers use one bottle for approximately one to four months.

Can I change scents whenever I want?

Yes. The external bottle design makes changing fragrances simple. Remove the current bottle, attach the new one and allow a short transition period for the previous fragrance to clear from the system.

Can I sample the scents before choosing a full bottle?

Yes. Scent samples are available to help you compare fragrances and select the best option for your home or business.

How should I store unused fragrance oil?

Store bottles upright in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, children and pets. Keep the cap tightly secured when the bottle is not connected.

Are Vent Scents oils safe to use around children and pets?

Our fragrances are designed for cold-air diffusion and should always be used according to the recommended settings. Because sensitivities vary, customers with children, pets or specific health concerns should begin at a low setting and consult their medical provider or veterinarian when appropriate.

Will the fragrance leave an oily residue?

Cold-air diffusion creates an extremely fine, dry mist rather than spraying liquid oil into the room. When the system is installed and operated correctly, it should not leave residue.

Is the system safe for my HVAC equipment?

The fragrance is introduced in controlled amounts through professionally placed tubing. Correct installation, appropriate settings and routine inspections are important for safe, reliable operation.

Will the scent become overpowering?

It should not when the settings are properly adjusted. The goal is a subtle, consistent fragrance—not an overwhelming burst of scent. Intensity can be lowered at any time.

How much are replacement oils?

Our 500 mL fragrance oils are $110 when purchased individually or $88 with a subscription.

Is a subscription required?

No. Customers may purchase fragrance oils individually. The subscription option simply provides preferred pricing and convenient recurring deliveries.

How often will my subscription oil arrive?

Delivery frequency can be selected based on your expected usage. Your ideal schedule may change depending on your device settings and how many systems you operate.
